A Dive Resort that Treats Guests Like Family
Located at the water’s edge, this cherished Bonaire dive resort is a Caribbean classic. Bruce Bowker’s Carib Inn combines lovely, simple accommodations, an emphasis on first-class customer service and value to create an experience that guests love. From the very beginning, co-owners Bruce and Liz Bowker created a cozy, intimate resort dedicated to guests.
Bruce was among the pioneers who first established Bonaire’s diving infrastructure. He was the first dive instructor to offer scuba certifications on the island. He explored many of the island’s dive sites and was instrumental in establishing mooring buoys. He was a key partner in keeping Klein Bonaire from being developed and sinking the Hilma Hooker. The popular dives sites Rappel and The Lake were named in his honor.
Sadly, the Bowker family, Bonaire friends and the dive world said goodbye to Bruce, when he died unexpectedly in May 2020, only seven months after Liz died. Bruce’s niece, Lynne Culbreth, is committed to retaining the core values of the resort and continuing her uncle’s vision of giving guests a tropical vacation at a place that understands what divers need and want.
